      <image:title>Honing - What is honing?</image:title>
<image:caption>Honing is the ultra-precise bore machining process trusted by job shops and manufacturers to create parts that perform at the highest levels of speed, reliability and efficiency. No boring or grinding process is capable of delivering such precise levels of roundness, straightness and surface geometry at a lower cost per part.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Family-owned since 1955</image:title>
<image:caption>In 1955, Harold Spitery started Detroit Diameters, Inc. as a Southfield-based business focused on servicing the American machine tool builders. Since that day, we have survived the many industry changes that have come our way and have adapted to best suit or customers’ needs. Over the years, we have crossed over into areas to include aerospace, Tier 2 automotive supply, automation machinery, and the defense industry. In 1981, we moved to our current location in Novi, Michigan, and continue to hold service and quality to expert level standards. We have changed with the times supplying our customers with a needed quality service that helps them produce a part that meets all blue print specifications. We have had a mechanical engineer on staff since 2006 to help collaborate with our customers on specific requirements and needs for their projects. This helps us work more closely with larger firms, yet supply our smaller customers with more attention to detail than they may find elsewhere. All of Harold’s 5 sons worked for Detroit Diameters for a time when they were starting out, but his eldest son Craig stayed the course and helped to guide the company successfully through changes in the 80’s and 90’s and then became the principle and owner. Craig’s oldest son Jeff then followed in the family business, starting out after high school and through college, to assist in guiding the Company in the 2000’s- current.</image:caption>
